WWE SmackDown featured the following matches on the August 30 episode of the show. This week’s show aired live this afternoon from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. It will also air in its normal timeslot in the United States at 8 pm EST.
LA Knight comes out for an open challenge. It is answered by Ludwig Kaiser.
United States Championship Open Challenge: LA Knight defeats Ludwig Kaiser to retain
Knight won after hitting the BFT for the win. The crowd was cheering for Kaiser throughout the match and after Knight won.
Los Garza (Angel & Berto) /w Elektra Lopez defeated Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews
Los Garza hits the MTY on Crews to win via pinfall
Solo Sikoa previews the Bloodline vs. Street Profits vs. DIY match by highlighting all of the family members they’ve destroyed since he became Tribal Chief. Solo says he took ownership of this era, and if he did that to family, imagine what they’ll do to DIY and the Profits.
Solo says he doesn’t care if Kevin Owens or Cody Rhodes win at Bash In Berlin, the Tribal Chief is coming for them.
Nick Aldis welcomes everyone to the show before they play a hype video for the week-long tour of Germany. He then welcomes Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens to the ring for their face-off. KO asks what Cody wants to talk about, and Cody says ‘this championship right here.’ Cody says it looked like KO was going to hit him with the title from behind last week, and feels like it needs to be said. KO gets it, but everyone that he attacked deserved it… except for Kofi. KO apologizes to Kofi, then asks how Cody could think he’d do that, considering how close they are.
KO brings up Cody’s knee not being 100%, and Cody asks what this is all about. If he doesn’t want the title shot… KO cuts him off on the spot. KO points out Cody didn’t take a knee during his entrance, then brings up the eight-year anniversary of his first title win. He says that victory was tainted and people said Triple H gave it to him. Owens then says what happens if Cody is not 100% tomorrow and he wins the title?
Cody takes issue with KO saying “when” he wins the title, then talks about KO being angry about circumstances. He loves KO and he’s one of Cody’s actual friends in wrestling, but he has a question; will they still be friends after Cody wins at Bash In Berlin?
Owens drops the mic, whispers something to Cody before walking out.
Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews regroup backstage, but Grayson Waller and Austin Theory talk trash to them. Corbin says he’ll beat the breaks off of him before leaving. Theory takes issue with Waller always talking trash, but he’s always on the receiving end of it.
Theory thinks they are falling apart. Waller apologizes and says it’s just how they talk in Australia. Theory says they are OK and they shake hands.
Andrade defeated Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo Hayes wins via pinfall with the Nothing But Net after Andrade went face-first into an exposed turnbuckle. Melo ties the series with Andrade at 2 wins a piece.
WWE Women’s Championship Street Fight: Nia Jax (c) vs. Michin
Nia gets the win after a distraction from Tiffany Stratton. The final moments of the match saw Tiffany attack Michin from behind with her briefcase. She thinks about trying to cash in, but Nia catches her. Tiffany then helps Nia get a near fall before Bayley makes her return.
Bayley goes right after Tiffany and chases her into the crowd. Nia takes advantage of the distraction and hits a Samoan drop into a table, then puts a trash can on Michin’s head and hits the AnNialator for the win.
Nia whips a piece of a table and trash can lid at Michin after the bell, then hits her with a kendo stick before leaving.
