An AEW star and current champion has revealed they suffered an injury ahead of a big upcoming championship main event.
Earlier today, ROH Women’s Champion Athena took to Twitter, revealing that she has suffered a broken nose ahead of her upcoming title defence at ROH Final Battle.
Athena has since deleted the tweet revealing the injury, but PWInsider has confirmed that her injury is legitimate.
In the tweet, Athena mentioned that she planned on still working Final Battle, where her ROH Women’s Championship match with Billie Starkz is set to main event the show.
PWInsider notes that Athena appeared to have suffered the injury at this past week’s AEW Collision and Ring of Honor tapings in Montreal, in a segment set to air on next week’s episode of ROH.
Athena brawled with Starkz at the tapings, in a segment where the broken nose was believed to have happened after she was tossed into either a guard rail or ring post.
