On tonight’s WWE SmackDown, The Rock and Roman Reigns came face-to-face with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins ahead of WrestleMania 40.
In the main event segment of the show, Roman Reigns and The Rock made their entrances before being cut off by Rhodes and Rollins.
Despite the fact that Seth Rollins’ entrance theme wasn’t played, the crowd took a moment to sing his song anyway.
Cody Rhodes started the moment by saying that he felt very lucky to be standing in the ring and that the four of them should take a moment to feel this, right here in a sold out Dallas, Texas.
The crowd was clearly very enthusiastic about what they were potentially about to see.
Rhodes first addressed the Rock, saying that he heard his challenge and the stipulations that came along with it proposed for them at WrestleMania 40.
Asking The Rock if he even had the authority to make that stipulation, Rhodes said he wasn’t sure since last week Rock acknowledged Roman Reigns as his Tribal Chief.
The Rock interrupted Rhodes to reiterate the stakes for their proposal – if on night one, Seth and Cody beat The Rock and Roman, on night two they will be free of the Bloodline.
However, if Rock and Roman win, on night two it is ‘Bloodline rules’ where Rock again reiterated he will do anything in his power to make sure Cody doesn’t walk out champion and that Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship ‘goes away’.
Rock also reiterated the fact that he’s on the TKO Board of Directors, which he says makes him everyone else’s boss.
Rollins interrupted the Rock, calling him Mr. Midlife Crisis saying “You had your time, you damn sure can’t have ours.”
Rollins accepted the ‘biggest tag match of all time’ on behalf of himself and Cody Rhodes.
This made Roman Reigns laugh, asking Cody if he was going to let Rollins answer for him – he also referred to Seth Rollins as ‘a crossdresser’.
After the Rock got back on the microphone and called Cody Rhodes ‘a mistake’, Rhodes slapped him as the show went off the air.
Triple H announced on Twitter that the tag team match is official for night one of WrestleMania.
