WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has commented on the WWE Tag Team Championship changing hands on this week’s edition of SmackDown.
A-Town Down Under defended their gold on the July 5 show, with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller putting their gold on the line against Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.
DIY was ultimately victorious, defeating Theory and Waller to win their first championship on the main roster.
Triple H has now taken to Twitter to share a photo with Ciampa and Gargano, with the trio posing in the same way they did after DIY won the NXT Tag Team Title at NXT TakeOver Toronto 2016.
The Game pointed out that both of DIY’s WWE tag title wins happened in the same building, at the Scotiabank Arena.
Triple H tweeted:
So much history here. @JohnnyGargano & @CiampaWWE stepped into the same building where they first won tag team gold… and did it all over again.

Gargano and Ciampa are the second team to hold this iteration of the WWE Tag Team Championship, with this title replacing the SmackDown Tag Team Championship following Theory and Waller winning the gold at WrestleMania 40.
