Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes came to an emotional agreement on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown (September 20).

With Michael Cole describing it as a “shaky alliance,” he introduced a video package of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes meeting in Atlanta.
With the highly stylized and cinematic vignette featuring a fleet of black SUVs driving onto the football field of Georgia Tech to deliver Roman Reigns, instead Rhodes drove himself in a white sports car.
With the pair meeting in the middle of the field, there was a powerful verbal exchange.

Roman Reigns described his time as collegiate athlete at Georgia Tech, he noted that Atlanta was his city. Rhodes conceded that it might be Reigns’ field but Atlanta was Cody’s home.
Reigns went on to say that Cody Rhodes signed up for a lose/lose situation where Rhodes has everything to lose but Roman has nothing to lose.

Reigns said:
“They took Jimmy from me. They took my Wise Man. They took my Bloodline. And they took my Ula Fala. I don’t have anything to lose. For the first time in a long time, there’s no weight on my neck. It’s all on yours.”
“I’m a man with no country now,” Reigns said as Rhodes reminded him that he told him long ago – by the end, Roman would be left a Chief with no Tribe.

Roman would go on to ask Cody directly what he wanted from him to which Rhodes responded:
“I want your word. I want your word that you will have my back, so that I can have yours.”

Roman vowed to have Cody’s back but said “just understand this, when it is all done, I am taking back what is mine,” before angling to depart when Cody stopped him.
“It’s not yours to take,” he said while Roman simply replied, “You’re in my way. You’re in my way in life.”
