The rapper Sexyy Red made her WWE NXT debut on May 28, unveiling a new women’s championship for the brand.

Sexyy Red had previously tweeted about various goings on in NXT, with it later being revealed that WWE was entering a “partnership” with the popular music artist.
Not only did she reveal the new NXT Women’s North American Championship belt, but she also found herself involved in the Gallus vs Trick Williams & Je’Von Evans match, as can be seen below this news story.
Details of the backstage reaction to Sexyy Red on the show has now been revealed by Fightful Select.
Sexyy Red was “spoken of highly” by Fightful’s sources with it being noted that she was “easy to work with.”

The report also states that she will continue to “make further appearances… following NXT Battleground” which takes place on June 9, 2024.
A Fightful source compared Sexyy Red’s presence in NXT to that of the singer Poppy who had worked in partnership with WWE with a number of her songs featuring on NXT from January 2019.
Poppy would perform live in October 2019 and at NXT TakeOver: Portland in February 2020, going on to release an EP called Eat (NXT Soundtrack) in 2021 as part of the WWE partnership.

The upcoming NXT event will see the crowning of the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion in a ladder match featuring Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker, Michin and Kelani Jordan.
Legend is a member of The Meta-Four, a group about which Sexyy Red has tweeted in the past.
Shawn Michaels and Sexyy Red shared a video of the pair singing the Heartbreak Kid’s iconic theme song, with Triple H providing his own reaction later on.
