Cody Rhodes made a pit stop on his way to Glasgow, Scotland as the Undisputed WWE Champion popped by the NXT Performance Center.
Making an appearance on tonight’s June 11 episode of NXT, Cody Rhodes noted that he stopped by on his way to his title match against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle to feel the energy of NXT.
However, the energy would continue to get even higher as WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams made an appearance.
Having a brief and jovial segment with Rhodes in the ring, the promo also hosted a big announcement via NXT General Manager Ava.

Cody Rhodes announced that Ava had granted him permission to share with Williams who his next NXT Championship opponent would be.
Or rather, how it would be determined, as he announced a big match for next week.
Next week on NXT there will be a 25-man battle royal, with Cody Rhodes making sure to state that there will be involvement “from different locker rooms”.
That suggests there may be more TNA talents appearing on NXT next week, with the crowd chanting for Joe Hendry, but could also mean members of the main roster, or potentially talents from other companies even outside of TNA as TNA wasn’t explicitly said.
In a backstage segment soon after, Rhodes gifted his ‘Undashing’ mask from many years ago to Jacy Jayne, who suffered a fractured nose recently.
