An update on World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ status for WWE WrestleMania 40 following his torn MCL injury.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins suffered a legitimate injury on WWE Raw this week during his title defence against Jinder Mahal.
Per Fightful, the injury to Rollins was a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus, with it not known yet if he would require surgery.
The injury has put into question his status for WrestleMania 40 and the planned main event match against CM Punk, but the latest update has now been released.
Per PWInsider, Rollins could return from a torn meniscus, if he required surgery, in 3-4 weeks if he was able to push it, but a more likely timeframe would be the 4-6 week mark for recovery.
As far as WrestleMania, PWInsider notes that Rollins should be good to perform at the show in April, but other major events, such as Elimination Chamber in Perth, could be questionable.
Rollins is expected to provide an update on his injury status on next week’s Raw show.
We will provide any more updates on Rollins’ status as they become available.
