The WWE World Tag Team Championships changed hands on the June 24 episode of WWE Raw thanks to Liv Morgan.

It was Morgan who convinced R-Truth to put the championships on the line against Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
The match, which can be seen in its entirety, below this news story, saw Morgan get her hands on R-Truth cementing the opportunity for the Judgment Day win.
With the championships in new hands, the Awesome Truth reflected on what had happened while sporting merch that bore a strong resemblance to the wall behind them.

In a WWE Digital Exclusive that be seen below this news story, Jackie Redmond asked if Morgan had taken advantage of the Awesome Truth member, with a sombre R-Truth saying:
“Jackie, I don’t know what I’m feeling. I kind of messed up.”

The Miz would be less reserved in his reaction to Truth, replying:
“Yeah. Yeah, you did. I told you, time and time again, you don’t give World Tag Team Championship matches to just everybody.
“You have to earn the right. There’s a reason why we have to make it prestigious, why we have to make it honorable.
“You don’t just give it… especially to people that you can’t stand, the Judgment Day.”

R-Truth would agree with The Miz’s assessment of the evening, with Jackie Redmond commenting that emotions are running high.
Asked what the run as WWE World Tag Team Champions had meant to Awesome Truth, R-Truth responded:
“You act like it’s over! This run ain’t over with yet. That was just a hiccup.”

The Miz would be less convinced, until R-Truth set the vision for the future, saying:
“That’s all it was, dawg. Dawg, we the Awesome Truth. Is that supposed to stop us?
“They got something that belongs to us. I never liked them, none of em. Tom and Nick, maybe, but I never liked none of em.
“Let’s get back what is rightfully ours.”

With The Miz noting that WWE SummerSlam takes place in his home town of Cleveland, he stated:
“Do you understand what I wanted to do? Do you understand that… SummerSlam is in my hometown, Cleveland, Ohio.
“Do I think that we’re going to go back to Cleveland Browns Stadium ever? Probably not. This would be the one shot, the one opportunity, the one chance, to be at the place where I grew up as a child and I thought we were going to go there as Tag Team Champions and now we don’t have those.”

It would be at this moment, R-Truth would reveal his plan to The Miz, suggesting:
“But, how about winning back the WWE World Tag Team Championships in your home town? You can have your moment like I had my WrestleMania moment. We had that moment together.
“The Awesome Truth is all about creating moments. Let’s create another one.. and another one… and another one. But, next stop, Cleveland, Ohio, your home town.”

The Miz would agree that he’s “with that” suggestion and they’d conclude on a much more upbeat note.
WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 3, 2024 with two matches confirmed so far – Damian Priest defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins or Gunther and Bayley defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax.
