A big change was announced for the match at WWE King and Queen of the Ring in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul.
When the match was first announced, it seemed to be a true title versus title match where the winner would walk out with Cody’s Undisputed WWE Championship and Logan Paul’s United States Championship.
However, on tonight’s WWE SmackDown there was a contract signing segment between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul which confirmed an important distinction.
While Cody spoke about wanting to become a ‘Grand Slam Champion’ during his part of the segment, which he can only achieve by winning the US Title, it will not happen by the end of King and Queen of the Ring next Saturday, May 25.
Logan Paul pulled a stunt by which it was revealed that the United States Championship will not actually be on the line after all.
Revealing a separate contract that he brought for himself, he would end up goading Cody into signing it and making the match official before a scuffle broke out.
The big change in the new contract is that Logan’s title isn’t on the line, but Cody’s still is.
With Rhodes ending up taking out Paul’s stooges, in the melee Logan Paul left behind his United States Championship which Cody Rhodes held up to end the segment.
