The first 2024 King of the Ring finalist has been determined on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw (May 20) in the main event.
In the Raw semi-final of the King of the Ring tournament, it came down to Main Event Jey Uso taking on the Ring General, GUNTHER.
The hard hitting match stretched across multiple segments as both went to the limit to secure the Raw spot in the WWE King of the Ring tournament final.
However during a pivotal moment in the match, a spear delivered to GUNTHER in advance of an Uso Splash off the top rope would inadvertently also knock down the referee.
With Uso pinning GUNTHER and the referee hesitating to make the count, he would come up short and the Ring General kicked out.
This led to a reversal where GUNTHER trapped Jey Uso into a submission hold which he didn’t submit to however was determined by the referee to be knocked out!
Therefore, the match ended and the winner and first determined finalist in the WWE 2024 King of the Ring tournament is GUNTHER.
GUNTHER will take on either Randy Orton or Tama Tonga from SmackDown in the tournament final this Saturday.
