On tonight’s episode of WWE NXT (July 2) there was an update to the card for the upcoming premium live event, NXT Heatwave.
While Saturday, July 6 is set to host the WWE Money in the Bank PLE for the main roster, fans in Toronto get more action the following night at NXT Heatwave.
The Heatwave card expanded when after her match on tonight’s show where she lost to Jazmyn Nyx because of interference from Jacy Jayne, Karmen Petrovic went to NXT GM Ava to demand a fight against both Jayne and Nyx.
Ava let Karmen know that she did have a match for her, telling her it was a tag team match. to which Karmen excitedly hoped her partner would be Natalya.
However, Ava would go on t reveal that it wasn’t Natalya but it was still a Canadian connection as Arianna Grace appeared.
The pair will be in their shared hometown of Toronto as they team up to take on Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx at NXT Heatwave.
Elsewhere the main event segment tonight featured a contract signing between all four men vying for the NXT Championship – Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears and defending champion Trick Williams.
Also, in an emotional in-ring segment, Lola Vice explained her journey to WWE and motivation to capture the NXT Women’s Championship while current champ Roxanne Perez remained unbothered.
