The WWE backstage reaction to CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood has been revealed.

Following months of the duo trading verbal and physical shots, as well as WWE match victories, Punk and McIntyre met for one final showdown at the October 5 premium live event.
CM Punk was ultimately victorious, defeating Drew McIntyre in a brutal and bloody Hell in a Cell match after 31 minutes of action.

With WWE once again presenting the Hell in a Cell stipulation as a career-shortening match, Punk and McIntyre did their best to live up to expectations, shedding literal blood, sweat and tears during the bout.
Per PWInsider, the sentiment backstage was that Punk and McIntyre brought back the sense of “danger and ferociousness” which steel cage and Hell in a Cell matches used to carry.

Drew McIntyre was legitimately injured during the bout, with the Scottish Warrior requiring 16 staples in his head to close up the wound.
McIntyre has now broken his silence following this brutal encounter, which you can read more about right here.
CM Punk has given a special gift to the fan who made the original friendship bracelet which was featured in this rivalry, click here to read more.
