AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland puts his title on the line against Will Ospreay at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

The match takes place on June 30, 2024 in Las Vegas, with the pair coming face to face on last night’s AEW Dynamite, as can be seen below this news story.
While Ospreay extended a hand to his PPV opponent, Strickland was less than cordial being sure that the Aerial Assassin knew that the AEW World Championship was all that mattered, saying:

“You still think this is a damn game. You think I’m playing with you? This is your life you’re playing with. This is your career.
“This will change your life. I’m the one standing in between that. You’re still an immature little child.
“You wanna keep having these matches? Keep doing it week after week because you can’t hold both worlds on your shoulders.
“You’re not strong enough, Will. You’re not strong enough.”

By this point, Ospreay had had enough, snatching the AEW World Championship from Strickland and showing how it would look alongside the AEW International Championship on his shoulders.
Ospreay noted how comfortable he looked with both titles, with Strickland having the final chilling word before walking away saying:
“You’re lucky we’re still friends because anybody else would do this, I’d put them in the grave.”

Strickland has gone on to double done on his warning to Ospreay in a recent post on Twitter that can be seen below, tweeting:

Ospreay faced Rey Fenix in the main event with the AEW International Championship on the line, with highlights and the aftermath with Strickland below this news story.
