The August 28 episode of AEW Dynamite had an unexpected off-air incident that derailed a match before the cameras started rolling.
Last night’s AEW Dynamite saw the return of Jon Moxley and the in-ring debut of Ricochet, but things got off to an unexpected start during the dark match between Colt Cabana and Satnam Singh.
Footage of the pair during their dark match has been shared on Twitter with a fire alarm ringing out across the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
As can be seen below, there’s confusion as to what to do during the fire alarm, with Cabana exiting the ring to call the match to an end.
The fans watch on as we hear the evacuation warning issued by the automated system and the ref continues his count.
The show would go ahead as planned, however, with Cabana tweeting:
“Fun opening up the show at AEW Champaign, IL.”
A number of replies to his tweet would reference the fire alarm incident, although there has been no official statement on why it went off.
