AEW Dynamite Titles Tuesday on October 8 would have seen Britt Baker vs. Willow Nightingale in a number one contenders match.

With a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line, the match would be replaced by Nightingale vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Nyla Rose vs. Saraya, as can be seen in the highlights below this news story.
Nightingale would be victorious in the 4-Way Eliminator match, going on to face Mariah May at the October 12 AEW WrestleDream.

Baker has now addressed her absence in a video shared on Twitter, revealing she had strep throat and saying:
“I still have strep throat, but I sound way worse than I actually feel. I feel so much better now. Two days ago, I was dying, but now we’re good.
“I went to urgent care, got tested for strep, took antibiotics, got an IV shot. I’m good. I’m on the mend.”

With Hurricane Milton affecting the Florida region, Baker would also share her advice, describing herself as a “dumbass”, stating:
“For future reference, if you’re in an area that can be affected by a hurricane – stock the f**k up.
“I messed up. I didn’t think I was going to be here, I was supposed to be at Dynamite in Washington, so I was like I’m fine.
“Change of plans, I got strep throat, I got stuck in Orlando and there’s no supplies by the time I realised that.
“There was no gas, water, nothing, all the essentials gone off all the shelves. Stock up, don’t be a dumb ass like me.”

Baker recently returned to AEW Dynamite on October 2 having been absent since AEW All In in London on August 25.
Discussing her absence from television, revealing that her loss to AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has put her “to the back of the line“.
