The AEW star reportedly set to replace Chris Jericho following him stepping away from a current role has been revealed.
On last night’s AEW Rampage show, current FTW Champion Chris Jericho announced that he would be stepping away from his role on commentary on the show.
Jericho had been providing commentary for the show since it’s launch in August 2021, with him citing ‘wanting even more TV time on Dynamite and Collision’ as his reason for stepping away.
In previous weeks where Jericho was absent, ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Menard had subbed in as an announcer on Rampage, and that seems to be the permanent move going forward.
The Wrestling Observer noted that Menard is the name believed to be set to replace Jericho at the announce desk for Rampage permanently, which was later confirmed by TVA Sports’ Pat Laprade.
Matt Menard joined AEW back in August 2021 as a part of the 2point0 tag team with Angelo Parker, and has recently been aligned with Daniel Garcia following his breakaway from the Jericho Appreciation Society.
