Adam Copeland is well versed in all things Christian Cage having been his friend for decades and long before their WWE run.

Being familiar with each has led them to be one of the most enduring teams in WWE history, holding the World Tag Team Championship together seven times.
Outside of being tag team partners, the pair have had impressive singles careers, holding multiple championships a number of times in WWE.
Cage would leave WWE in March 2021, making a brief return to IMPACT Wrestling before heading to AEW at Revolution in the same year.
Copeland would remain with WWE until his contract expired in September 2023, debuting at AEW WrestleDream a day later on October 1.

With Cage having a headstart over Copeland under Tony Khan, the WWE Hall of Famer reflected on his friend’s success during an interview with Sports Illustrated, saying:
“This is Jay without any constraints. He’s discovering and sometimes accidentally stumbling on things that garner a reaction.
“He’s the type of performer whose ears are always open. If he pushes a button, then just wait, he’ll do it again and even better. And he’s helping bring others up, too.”

Copeland would also give an insight into his friend’s mindset over the important thing in wrestling, saying:
“It’s the title that’s the most important thing in the world to Christian. When the title is involved, that should always be the lynchpin of a story. It should hold enough significance to break up a friendship.
“That been lost in a lot of cases over the years, but I appreciate how he’s made the title important.
“His goal was to make it bigger than AEW world title. At this point, I believe he’s done it.”

Cage is the current AEW TNT Champion having defeated Luchasaurus for the title on the September 23 episode of AEW Collision.
Copeland was inducted into WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2012 by Christian.
