An AEW star has hit back at ‘bullsh*t’ rumors online that they refuse to lose amid questions regarding their status in the company.

Amongst a plethora of crazy statistics from pro wrestling in 2023, truly one of the hardest to fathom is that the House of Black’s Malakai Black failed to compete in one singles match in the entirety of the year.
Instead, every one of Black’s AEW bouts in the past calendar year has been in tag team or trios competition alongside stablemates Buddy Matthews and Brody King.
The bizarre nature of the situation has had many questioning what’s going on throughout the year, with Black even previously denying claims that his lack of singles competition was injury related.

Due to Black’s previous request of his release from AEW in late 2022, one Twitter user suspected that the former NXT Champion’s lack of activity in one-on-one bouts is in relation to perhaps him refusing to lose in singles action, saying:

This led to Black coming to his own defence in a reply post on Twitter, in which he vehemently denied the claim, saying:

For those curious, Black’s last match as a singles competitor in AEW came all the way back at Forbidden Door 2022, where he faced PAC, Miro and Clark Conners for the AEW International Championship (then known as All-Atlantic Championship).
While Black reportedly has many years remaining on his AEW deal, one former WWE star is now officially a free agent; potentially even making a return to their former employer as soon as tonight’s Monday Night Raw.
