AEW President Tony Khan has revealed his reaction to the announcement that competitor brand WWE had partnered with streaming giant, Netflix.

While there is mounting excitement surrounding the upcoming NFL Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tony Khan made an appearance at media row as sports radio hosts, podcasters and influencers from around the world have converged to cover the big game.
Amidst the personalities making appearances was Tony Khan, who wasn’t only able to field questions about his family owned NFL team the Jacksonville Jaguars, but also Fulham FC and AEW.
Speaking to Payne & Pendergast for 610 Sports Radio, Tony Khan was asked about WWE having recently secured a big media rights partner in the streaming platform, Netflix.

Tony Khan responded:
“Absolutely. We’re excited to get big media rights renewals in the wrestling business. That’s great to see for everybody.
“We’re in a big contract year, too, and I think AEW is going to get big media rights. Right now, we have a great partnership on TBS and TNT that I want to continue for a long time.
“We’ve been on since 2019, it’s five years now we’re going on TBS and TNT, and it’s been great and I want to keep it going because there is a great tradition of wrestling on those channels.”

Elsewhere in AEW related news, Tony Khan also mentioned during his appearance the upcoming AEW event in Boston, AEW Big Business.
The event scheduled for March 13, 2024 is heavily rumored to be the debut of Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE) in AEW, with promotion for the event leaning in to the references of her impending arrival.
