AEW star Jon Moxley has commented on his legacy, saying that while the history books will struggle to classify him, they can’t ignore him.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated ahead of upcoming IWGP World Heavyweight title defenses, Moxley described his legacy.
Should he successfully retain the title for two more defenses, he will have achieved the most number of title defenses in NJPW history.
Adding another feather in his cap as a history maker, Moxley described his legacy and how he compares himself to no one else as a method of motivation.

Moxley said:
“That’s why I try to focus on what I’m doing. What’s the saying? Comparison is the death of happiness? I’m the only one of me.
“Forgive me for speaking in the third person, but I’m the only Jon Moxley there is. I don’t see another one walking in any f—— time soon.”

“When it’s all said and done, and I’ve been eaten by a cougar or something and people look back on everything, I like the idea that you won’t know where to classify me in history,”
“You don’t know where to put me on your lists or your rankings or whatever the f—.
“You have no idea where to classify me, but you can’t ignore me, so you’re going to have to give me my own space. I like that.”

While the article references the recent challenge seemingly posed by Konosuke Takeshita to Moxley for the title, it surmised that they could do battle on June 30 at AEW Forbidden Door on pay-per-view.
That is if he can get through another NJPW star first. Moxley is slated to defend the IWGP Championship against Evil at Okasa Jo Hall on June 9 at NJPW Dominion.
Moxley also doesn’t currently have a match set for Double Or Nothing on May 26.
