Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks have commented on Jack Perry’s return to AEW, and alliance with the Elite.
Jack Perry was initially suspended by AEW following a backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In 2023.
When he returned to the ring, he did so for NJPW, appearing for the company from January to April, ahead of his AEW comeback.
His first appearance back with AEW saw him help the Young Bucks to win their ladder match with FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championship.
Perry has now officially formed a partnership with Matt and Nick Jackson, with Kazuchika Okada also joining this iteration of the Elite faction.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated’s Fan Nation, Matt Jackson revealed that they kept an eye on Perry throughout his AEW hiatus.
Recalling his first meeting with Perry following All In, Matt said:
“We kept an eye on him the entire time he was gone and helped him navigate the situation–a familiar one that we had also gone through.
“We also talked him down a few times. We gave him advice on how to succeed in Japan. It felt like he was our little brother. We saw him for the first time since All In, a couple days prior to the pay-per-view.
“We met him in our private jet, and talked endlessly the entire flight. We let him get it all out of his system, but assured him that this would be a fresh start. I was so thrilled to hear and see the groundswell for him when he appeared for the first time. It was like a rebirth for him.”
Matt and Nick Jackson will team with Perry and Okada to battle Darby Allin, Bryan Danielson, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler in an Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing this weekend.
