An update has emerged on AEW TV rights negotiations, following claims that Tony Khan was “disappointed” by an offer on the table.

With AEW’s Dynamite, Rampage and Collision shows airing across Warner Bros Discovery networks TBS and TNT, WBD was expected to play a key role in AEW’s TV negotiations.
A recent report indicated that while WBD CEO David Zaslav and TNT Sports’ Luis Silberwasser wanted to retain AEW on TNT and TBS, Khan himself was “disappointed” by the offer presented for his content.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer indicated that the number AEW was offered by WBD didn’t sound “disappointing”.
Commenting on the negotiations, Meltzer wrote:

The only real notes I can say is that from the AEW side, they claim they were not disappointed in the offer on the table at all, but obviously haven’t signed it either.
The whole argument over the word disappointed is a semantic term. You could say disappointed as inherent because they haven’t signed or you could say not disappointed, because the first offer was a good starting point for negotiations, but you still haven’t signed so it’s really just a word.
Based on the number range we’ve heard, it would be a number I wouldn’t call disappointing at all, but obviously the figure they are at is less than they are wanting because no deal has been signed.
