Following his first PPV title defence, Dustin Rhodes has hailed current AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland as a “generational talent.”

At AEW Double Or Nothing 2024, Swerve Strickland defeated Christian Cage to retain the AEW World Championship.
Following his victory over Lio Rush on the June 1 edition of Collision, Roderick Strong confronted Tony Khan about getting a shot at Swerve Strickland’s AEW World Title.
This bout was set up and scheduled for this Wednesday’s June 5 episode of Dynamite.

On June 2, Dustin Rhodes took to social media to comment on the upcoming AEW World Title Match. He wrote:
From 1st hand experience, @swerveconfident is in a different category. A generational talent who is as tough as they come. #HouseCall ain’t no joke…..it will rattle your brains like scrambled eggs.
@roderickstrong is also a man of strict work ethic, who is himself a force. With his ability to tie you up in a knot….I’d say we are getting a PPV caliber matchup Wednesday on #AEWDynamite #RoddyVsSwerve #WorkHorseChampion

The winner of the Swerve Strickland vs. Roderick Strong match will face International Champion Will Ospreay for the AEW World Title on Sunday, June 30 at Forbidden Door.
