A trademark filing with the United States Patent & Trademark Office has potentially revealed plans for a new AEW project.

Per the USPTO, AEW filed an application to trademark the term “FAIRWAY TO HELL” on Friday (June 14).
The application indicates that AEW intends to use this term for merchandise, and for golf events.

The following description accompanied the filing:
Mark For: FAIRWAY TO HELL™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of bandanas; Hats; Headwear; Pants; Shirts; Shorts; Socks; Sweatshirts; Undergarments; Clothing jackets; T-shirts; Tank tops.

Interestingly, the filing included the following description under the Good, Services, and Codes section:
Organizing, arranging, and conducting golf events; Organizing, conducting and operating golf tournaments

While it appears that this term will be used for something related to golf, AEW’s exact plans for “FAIRWAY TO HELL” are currently unclear.
The promotion is currently building towards the upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view, which will take place on June 30.
Stars from both AEW and NJPW will be in action during this crossover event, which will be headlined by a huge AEW World Championship match, with Swerve Strickland to defend against International Champion Will Ospreay.
