AEW President Tony Khan has commented on Shane McMahon reportedly being interested in joining the company.
It was recently noted that Shane McMahon had reached out to AEW stars about the possibility of joining the company.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer that Tony Khan had told him that he had never spoken to or met Shane, and was surprised by the report.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Khan again spoke about the rumoured interest from McMahon, saying that he has a lot of respect for him, and he is ‘always welcome’ in the company.
Commenting on McMahon a and potential future in AEW, Tony Khan said:
“I heard the rumor he might be interested.
“I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”
