Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon reportedly spoke about AEW during a conversation at an airport this morning.
According to a new report, Mone and McMahon saw each other at LaGuardia Airport in New York today, the day after AEW Forbidden Door.
PWInsider notes that it has “confirmed with multiple sources” that Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon were seen speaking to each other one the way to their respective flights.
In addition, “one source confirmed” they did have a conversation about AEW.
PWInsider notes that McMahon was not spotted at Forbidden Door last night.
Tony Khan recently commented on the rumors about Shane McMahon heading to AEW, initially saying he’s never met McMahon, but later adding “he is always welcome in AEW”.
We’ll keep you posted if the rumors do amount to anything, but there’s no word that any official progress has actually been made as of yet.
Fightful recently reported that McMahon does not currently have any contractual attachment to WWE.
Last night at Forbidden Door, Mone defeated Stephanie Vaquer to retain the TBS Championship and win the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.
Mone’s celebration was then cut short by the return of Britt Baker.
