The September 4 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Hangman Adam Page set fire to Swerve Strickland’s childhood home.

The pair are set to face off against each other at AEW All Out on September 7 2024 in a steel cage match.
Their bitter feud really got hot on Wednesday, as can be seen in the footage below this news story, with Page skipping the formalities of a contract signing for an act of arson.
Page was seen in Strickland’s childhood home, something that Swerve had shown off on social media having recently purchased it.
With Page running down Strickland’s childhood, he would go on to torch the building, revelling in the act of arson.

Details of the angle have now emerged, courtesy of Fightful Select, who noted that the house was a ‘major purchase’ for Strickland after reports of his new AEW deal.
The report also noted that it was ‘all coordinated and planned, and even though the deal was announced, was actually finalized shortly after’.
According to Fightful Select, Strickland had ‘over a half year’ on his current deal but AEW saw a ‘storyline opportunity’ in announcing his re-signing.

As for the fire itself, a ‘very small crew’ were on site for the segment with ‘professional supervision’ also in attendance.
The angle had been ‘planned for months’ with ‘many on the AEW roster’ unaware that it was going to happen leading to Strickland acting as if he had bought the house for reasons other than the story.
Fightful Select also noted that there are ‘storyline reasons planned’ to explain why Hangman Page hasn’t been charged or jailed for the act of arson.

Backstage, it’s reported that AEW is ‘very happy’ with how the angle was executed and the reception that it has received with ‘numerous talent in Chicago for a Black Label Pro event watched the angle unfold on Dynamite.
Despite suggestions that have emerged online, the house that was set on fire and the house that Strickland bought are the same property.
The match between Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland is expected to main event AEW All Out.
