AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson has shared his take on AEW vs WWE, explaining why wrestlers benefit from having multiple major companies.

Tribalism has more recently been a big topic in the world of wrestling since AEW’s inception in 2019, with subsets of AEW and WWE fans constantly comparing the two companies.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso, Bryan Danielson noted that having multiple major companies in the US allows some stars to thrive in WWE, and others to thrive in AEW.

Danielson named Swerve Strickland as a star who has now been given an opportunity to shine, noting:
“You watch him (Swerve Strickland) and ask, ‘Who would ever let go of this guy?’ He just wasn’t given the opportunity to be his best self.
“And that goes both ways – I don’t want it to sound like, ‘Oh, evil WWE, they don’t let their talent be their best selves.’ Some people will thrive there. Some people will thrive here. There are people who will thrive in both places, there are people who will be underutilized.
“That’s the benefit of having two major companies in the United States. If someone doesn’t see value in you, you can try somewhere else.”

Danielson defeated Strickland to win the AEW World Championship in the main event of All In London at Wembley Stadium.
