AEW’s Darby Allin is still focused on conquering Mount Everest but has another big goal on his bucket list.
Injury had got in the way of Allin’s goal of climbing Mount Everest this year, revealing that he still wants to make the journey which can only happen “two months out of the year.”
In a recent interview with Fightful, Allin opened up about his training for the trek, saying:
“Well, I had to climb so much mountains for training. I had to go to like Mendoza, Aconcaqua, like you know, Lobuche.
“Like I did so much mountains that are like 20,000 feet mountains and so I did a lot of training for that, but I wouldn’t consider myself a mountaineer and junkie who wants to do it.
“I kind of just want to go for the throat and go for the big one.”
He would reiterate his plans to climb Everest, with that being high on his bucket list, noting:
“Well, Everest is top right now. I really need to focus on that 100%.”
As for other bucket list goals, Allin would reveal his desire to leave Earth completely, potentially going to Mars, saying:
“I’d like to go to space. That’d be fun. Yeah that’d be really sick. I don’t know, I think it would just be super fun.
“I don’t know, I think I’m just… trying to do like growing up and being told that you’re going to live the bare minimum life, work a minimum wage job, and you start believing that your whole life and then you finally actually understand that if you stick to your guns, like anything’s possible. So now I’m just trying to like go overboard with it.”
On September 12, 2024, the billionaire Jared Isaacman became the first non-professional astronaut to undertake a spacewalk during the Polaris Dawn mission.
Isaacman funded the mission which was the second by Elon Musk’s SpaceX to be crewed privately.
Musk has also previously revealed plans to establish a colony on Mars under his SpaceX company.
