The first AEW opponent for Mercedes Mone was officially confirmed at tonight’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view as a brand new champion was crowned.
At AEW Dynasty, Julia Hart put her TBS Championship on the line against Willow Nightingale.
During the entrance it was revealed that Willow Nightingale selected the stipulation that Skye Blue and Kris Statlander were banned from ringside, sending Stat to the back.
Stokely Hathaway however was on hand, appearing as the fourth man on the commentary team for the match.
After a match that went just over six minutes, Willow Nightingale picked up the victory and became the brand new TBS Champion.
She is the fourth TBS Champion after Jade Cargill, Kris Statlander and Julia Hart.
After the match, her celebration in the ring with Statlander and Stokely Hathaway was interrupted by the arrival of Mercedes Mone.
The CEO came to the ring, danced a bit and then on the screen a graphic for AEW Double or Nothing was shown.
The segment would end with Willow holding up her newly won title over the head of Mone before continuing to celebrate with the fans and her family at ringside as Mercedes glared at her from the ramp.
Elsewhere on tonight’s pay-per-view, the show opened with Kazuchika Okada making his first successful title defense of the AEW Continental Championship, beating PAC.
Earlier on the Zero Hour, the Bang Bang Gang (Jay White and Colten & Austin Gunn) beat the team of Billy Gunn, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens to become the new AEW Trios Champions and unify the ROH and AEW Trios titles.
