Here’s how WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins shut down CM Punk chants at Sunday’s (December 10) WWE house show.
Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in singles action at the live event in State College, Pennsylvania, before taking to the mic.
While addressing the live crowd, CM Punk chants broke out in the audience.
Calling the returning star a bum, Rollins said:
“I really don’t feel like talking about that bum tonight. Instead, I’d like to take a second to express my gratitude to each and every one of you guys.
“From all of us in the back, everyone in WWE, we just want to say thank you, happy holidays, we’ll see you guys next time. We love you.
“Now do me one favor. You’ve been singing my song so beautiful all night long. Let them know in State College who the real Best in the World is.”
Rollins is one of several stars to throw shade on CM Punk following the former WWE Champion’s return at Survivor Series 2023.
During Punk’s return, Rollins was seen being unhappy, attempting to ‘get at’ Punk, which was soon clarified as part of the storyline plan.
Rollins recently addressed his issues with Punk at length ahead of a potential feud between the two stars, which you can read about right here.
Both Rollins and CM Punk will be in the building for Monday’s (December 11) edition of Raw. On this show, Punk will make a big announcement.
Punk has appeared for Raw, SmackDown and NXT since returning to WWE, notably showing up at Saturday’s NXT Deadline premium live event.
