The reaction from Ari Emanuel – the CEO of WWE Parent company TKO – to the allegations against Vince McMahon has reportedly emerged.
McMahon announced his resignation from TKO on January 26, a day after a lawsuit was filed accusing him of sexual trafficking, abuse and more – you can read the full lawsuit below.
On January 26, WWE’s biggest sponsor Slim Jim announced it was putting its deal with the company on “pause” after the allegations against McMahon came out.
A couple of hours later, McMahon resigned from TKO – where he served as Executive Chairman of the Board – and Slim Jim then announced its partnership with WWE was resuming.
PWInsider has now shared some details on the internal reaction within WWE and TKO to the news and what it could mean going forward.
One of the talking points (and “concerns” from certain people’s perspectives) is that anyone who had a close relationship with Vince McMahon could be a target to be let go by the company.
Specifically, there were some people who left the company when McMahon resigned from WWE the first time around, and then came back when he came back, so those people especially could be at risk as the company looks for a completely “fresh start”.
When it comes to Emanuel, it was noted that his own daughter has been employed at WWE HQ for “several years”.
One source stated that Emanuel will “ferociously eradicate anything that needs to be taken care of to protect his businesses”.
The same source called back to when Emanuel pulled out of a deal with Saudi Arabia “without blinking an eye”, and considering he did that, he’ll have no issue with “removing anything and anyone still remaining” that could cause a problem for WWE.
