A WWE star has once again teased a big rematch ahead of his return to the ring after over six months away.

Gunther recently broke a major WWE record, passing Pedro Morales’ combined total 619 days with the Intercontinental Championship.
This means that Gunther has held the Intercontinental Championship in this one reign, longer than any other individual has throughout their entire careers.
Sheamus has now taken to Twitter to seemingly tease another match against the Austrian star.

Appearing to be keeping an eye on Gunther’s reign, Sheamus wrote:

Sheamus hasn’t wrestled since losing to Edge (Adam Copeland) on the August 18, 2023 edition of SmackDown, with it reported shortly after this match that Sheamus was recovering from an injury.
Many fans want to see Sheamus dethrone Gunther, as Sheamus is one Intercontinental Title win away from being a WWE Grand Slam winner.
The Celtic Warrior has challenged for Gunther’s gold several times, coming up short in singles matches at Clash at the Castle 2022 and on the October 7, 2022 edition of SmackDown.
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre unsuccessfully challenged for Gunther’s title in a three way match at WrestleMania 39.
