Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has reflected on the quality of his current 1300-day title reign.

Roman Reigns won the WWE Universal Championship in August 2020, while later defeating Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022.
This title reign has spanned nearly four years and has helped guide WWE into one of its most successful periods in company history.
One of Reigns’ most memorable defenses came against former 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena at SummerSlam 2021.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Roman Reigns spoke about his career and his former rival John Cena came up in the conversation.

When asked about Cena’s “Greatest of All Time” moniker and his place in that discussion, Roman answered:
“I’ve always known it. I’ve always been striving for it, and I’ve always had this obsession with it,”
“I was born in ‘85, so you’re growing up through the 90s, you had Michael Jordan, there’s just this mentality. It was different times back in the day.”

“I’m not trying to get all old-school on everybody, but it was tougher, it was a tougher mentality than it is today.
“That is just something that conditioned me to chase it and want to be on a different level than everybody. I don’t take anything away from anybody.”
“What John’s done is, yeah, as far as generations comes, that’s GOAT-level stuff. But for me, it’s always been about quality, not quantity.”

On Cena not having one title reign on the level of his 1300 plus day run, Reigns said:
“John had a lot of title reigns, but he doesn’t have a title reign that can compare to what I’ve done in the past four years,”
“So this quality that I’ve put on display, it speaks for itself. The business backs it. Everything that’s happened, it’s made this place more lucrative than it’s ever been. It’s made this place more attractive.”
“My reign has gone through the most turbulent, crazy time in WWE’s history, and that says a lot. I will always take the quality of this run over going 14,15,16 times, any day of the week.”

Roman Reigns is set to headline both nights of WWE WrestleMania 40 when he teams with The Rock to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on night one, and he defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Rhodes on night two.
