A new role for the on-screen partner of a WWE star released on Friday (April 19) has potentially been revealed.
NXT’s Von Wagner was one of the names released by WWE on Friday night, being one of six names to have been released from the company.
Wagner was called up to the WWE main roster as a free agent in last year’s Draft, but he never appeared on the main roster, returning to NXT alongside Mr. Stone, where he remained until his eventual release.
With Wagner released, many had wondered what Stone’s future would be on the brand with him now without clients, and a new role for him has seemingly been revealed.
Per Fightful Select, Stone is set to start duty as a co-producer for NXT, with he and Matt Bloom listed as producers for a match between Fallon Henley and Jaida Parker on tonight’s show.
When asked around, Fightful was told that there were no current plans to pair Stone with another NXT star.
Shawn Spears was also recently listed as a producer for the NXT brand following his return to WWE back in March.
