WWE fans are just three days away from the ‘major announcement’ from Japan’s Pro-Wrestling NOAH at BUNTAI in Yokohama.

With WWE Clash at the Castle taking place in Glasgow, Scotland on June 15, Pro Wrestling NOAH revealed that there’s more to come from WWE on an international stage.
According to the recent post on the official Pro Wrestling NOAH Twtter account, a ‘major announcement’ will be made on June 16, along with ‘a message from a certain wrestler’.
At the time of writing, there are no further details as to what the WWE & NOAH announcement will entail or who the ‘certain wrestler’ is likely to be.

Dave Meltzer has, however, revealed the name behind the relationship between NOAH and WWE on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:
“They’ve talked for years. I mean a couple years back when Paul Levesque was looking at NXT Japan one of the ideas was work with the NOAH group and do that. I don’t know if that’s what’s this is.
“I don’t know what the story is but I know Simon Inoki has been a conduit working with both sides.”

Simon Inoki is the son-in-law of WWE Hall of Famer, the late Antonio Inoki and was a key player in WWE NXT’s Charlie Dempsey appearances in AJPW.
In February 2019, it was reported that WWE had sent officials to Japan to “discuss the possibility of opening a new NXT brand in the region.”
CyberFight Inc. is the parent company of the Japanese wrestling promotions Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT Pro-Wrestling and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.

In July 2024, WWE returns to Japan with three shows after an absence of five years, with shows taking place in Osaka and Tokyo.
Among the stars advertised to be performing on the Japanese tour are Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, IYO SKY, Asuka and Kairi Sane.
