Following his title win at WrestleMania 40, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has revealed his honest opinion of Roman Reigns.
At WrestleMania 40 Night Two, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to “finally finish his story” and win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Since then, Rhodes has become the top star in the entire company, while Reigns has been absent from WWE programming.
While Cody is still dealing with The Bloodline on SmackDown, fans have become louder and louder with chants of “We Want Roman” every week.
Speaking with The Pivot Podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed his honest opinion of his rival Roman Reigns. He said:
“I think Roman and I are great opponents. I don’t dislike Roman and I think he doesn’t dislike me but when we see ourselves on the poster together, we get it. I’m supposed to beat you, you’re supposed to beat me, you’re supposed to be the benchmark, I want to be the benchmark.
“I’d love to sit with Roman at one point. We’ve never had that, to sit and talk. Even if we were to watch something back, if WWE organized it where we watch WrestleMania.
“Just because our families have been linked for so long, it’s kind of fate that put us together. I’m not a big believer in anything but there’s that element of destiny and fate with him and I going against each other.”
It remains to be seen when Roman Reigns will make his highly anticipated return to WWE TV at the time of this writing.
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes will team with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to face The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in a six-man tag team match this Saturday, July 6 at WWE Money In The Bank.
