Former WWE Champion The Miz has placed his “name in the hat” to face John Cena ahead of his 2025 retirement tour.

At Money In The Bank, John Cena made a surprise return to announce that he will be retiring from WWE with WrestleMania 41 being the final one he will compete on. During the post show, Cena confirmed that he will be working between 30-40 shows from January to December 2025.
With the 16-time WWE World Champion about to end his in-ring career, many stars have reportedly been jockeying for position as far as getting a match with Cena before his time in the company is done.

Speaking with CBS Sports, The Miz discussed John Cena’s retirement tour and wanting to place his name in the hat to face him. He said:
“I am putting my name in the hat!”
“I’ve been in the ring a lot with John Cena and selfishly I’d want more because that’s how much fun it is getting into the ring with John Cena.
“But I also want our new talent to experience John Cena. Because as much as I was taught by John and I can teach what John taught me, it’s always better when you have that guy there to teach you. I would want our younger talent to feel that energy.”

The Miz has admitted that it's not sure he will be having a match at Summer Slam what is held this year in his hometown, click here to read more about this.
