There has been an update on CM Punk and John Cena potentially forming a tag team during Cena’s retirement tour in 2025.

16-time World Champion John Cena announced his retirement tour back at Money In The Bank in Toronto, with him set to retire in December 2025.
Many WWE stars who have had a past with Cena have been speculated to face off against Cena for one last time, including CM Punk.
Punk commented on Cena’s retirement during the post-Money In The Bank media scrum, where he said that he’d be interested in working with Cena again, but he seemingly has other ideas.

Speaking at San Diego Comic Con, Punk was asked about any WWE stars he’d be interested in teaming with following his return from injury.
Punk mentioned fans wanting to see him fight Cena, but instead proposed the idea of them teaming up.

He said:
“Everybody is asking me, because Cena has announced his retirement, they obviously want to see us fight each other. There is something to me and him tagging. That could be pretty interesting.”
