A wrestling veteran has agreed upon terms for a new WWE Legends deal, with the star’s relationship with the company improving.
Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura was “welcomed home” on the July 29 edition of WWE Raw, during his first WWE appearance in over a decade.
Following WWE sharing videos of Ventura with the likes of Triple H and CM Punk at the taping, Ventura has now revealed that he’s set to sign a new deal with the company.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ventura confirmed that he and WWE had agreed upon a new Legends contract for him, which just needed to be signed.
Ventura said:
“My relationship with them now has much improved. We are on the verge right now. I can say this, contracts have been written, contracts have been agreed upon.
“All it requires is two signatures, one from them, and one from me. And I will be back with the legends (deal).”
Ventura has had several disputes with WWE over the years, including when he took legal action over royalties rights in 1991.
The wrestling veteran made a name for himself in the world of politics, notably elected as the mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He held this position until 1995, before becoming a Reform Party candidate in 1998, during his time as Minnesota governor.
After teasing his own presidential bid, it was reported earlier this year that Ventura made the shortlist of candidates to be independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr’s running mate for the US presidential election.
