On tonight’s July 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, there were some new on-screen features noted during the broadcast.
While subtle production changes have been occurring for months – and some not so subtle differences such as the single shot entrances that have now become common – there were some new on-screen graphics added throughout the show.
A new ‘Tonight’s Results’ graphic recapped the matches that had already occurred and the winners for viewers joining midway through the show.
There were also similar ‘Still To Come’ on-screen graphics to inform what was left to occur on tonight’s show.
In the show’s main event, a tag team match featuring Cody Rhodes and a mystery partner were set to take on Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.
In a vignette, Solo Sikoa threatened the entire locker room that if anyone was planning on tagging with Rhodes, they would suffer the same fate that Randy Orton did last week.
To close last week’s WWE SmackDown, the Bloodline waged a vicious attack on Randy Orton which resulted in his absence this week.
When the match was set to begin, it was revealed that Kevin Owens was Cody’s partner.
Earlier on social media, Owens gave an update on his recent family emergency as he made note that his mother had ‘kicked out’ after being hospitalized.
