After tonight’s tag team gauntlet on SmackDown saw new number one contenders named, the WWE Tag Team Champions have reacted.

The current WWE Tag Team Champions Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano (DIY) reacted to the winners of tonight’s tag team gauntlet match to determine who would become the number one contenders to their title.
Earlier in the show, Nick Aldis announced that due to Tonga Loa’s eye injury, he was being replaced by Jacob Fatu, so the Bloodline team would be made up of Fatu and Tama Tonga.
The tag team gauntlet match included Angel & Berto, Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews, Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson), the Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins), the OC (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows), and aforementioned Bloodline team of Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

In the end, it was the final entrants, the Bloodline, that defeated the Street Profits to capture the win and become the brand new number one contenders.
After the show, comments from DIY backstage regarding their future opponents were shared by WWE.

In an online clip shared on Twitter, Ciampa said:
“Werewolf Jacob Fatu, Bloodline, I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced. I’m the blackheart, this is Johnny Wrestling, together we are the greatest tag team alive.
“You want the WWE tag team titles? Any time. Any place. Boys you have a receipt coming your way.”

The match was confirmed to be taking place on next week’s pre-SummerSlam episode of SmackDown.
Elsewhere on tonight’s SmackDown, Logan Paul attacked LA Knight and then later revealed he had a surprise in store for SummerSlam 2024.
