WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Booker T has heaped praise on Ilja Dragunov following his recent Vengeance Day outing.
On the February 4, 2024, event, Dragunov defended the NXT Championship against Trick Williams, with highlights from the match below this news story.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T gave high praise to the NXT Champion, saying:
“He brings the best out of everybody that he gets in the ring with. I give that kid there so much credit as well.
“He’s truly next level, a next level competitor. His wrestling is top-notch, second to none.
“He gives you the full range of what a showman truly really is, and then he goes in the ring and backs it up at the highest level. I loved that match.”
Booker T didn’t leave out Williams when it came to noting his achievements either, going on to say:
“He showed me a whole lot, and what a showman more than anything … his timing and his presence, his spacing.”
He would conclude by praising Williams for “stepping up and understanding the levels of performances that you have to be able to reach.”
Dragunov signed with WWE in January 2019 and has also held the NXT United Kingdom Championship.
He became NXT Champion at NXT No Mercy in September 2023, defeating Carmelo Hayes.
