CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series in November 2023, going on to tour the brands, including appearing at NXT Deadline.

His first televised WWE match since 2014 took place at the Royal Rumble in January 2024 with Punk suffering an injury that has kept him out of the ring since.
Recently, Shawn Michaels has commented on Punk’s visits to NXT, calling Punk “fantastic” and reflecting on how their “second chances” have seen them both “do some things differently.”

NXT Champion Trick Williams has also opened up about Punk and his backstage attitude during an interview with Adrian Hernandez, saying:
“Mentor is a perfect way to put it, man. He has been a blessing for all of us who would take the time to actually go talk to him and reach out to him.
“He’s helped me with a few things that I feel like, if the crowd knew about it, they would be very grateful that he did. I’ll just leave it there.
“Shoutout to CM Punk. He’s been a positive light for all of us here in NXT.”

Trick Williams heads to NXT Battleground on June 9 to defend his championship against Ethan Page.
Page made his WWE debut on May 28, 2024, with the match being made official on this week’s episode of NXT.
Punk is currently locked in a war of words (and tweets) with Drew McIntyre, with a recent visit to WWE HQ being an ideal opportunity for some trolling.
