On tonight’s SmackDown, there was a development in who will face Cody Rhodes at Bash In Berlin for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

While Cody Rhodes kicked off tonight’s August 9 episode of WWE SmackDown, he was joined by several guests.
With Rhodes barely greeting the Tulsa, Oklahoma crowd he was promptly interrupted by Solo Sikoa.
Sikoa claimed that he should get a rematch against Rhodes, because according to Sikoa, he only lost due to the interference of Roman Reigns
However, Sikoa wouldn’t get his wish, and as he and the Bloodline (without Jacob Fatu) approached Rhoded in the ring, Kevin Owens would come out to back up Rhodes and chase off the Bloodline.

At that point, Rhodes invited Owens into the ring and went on to give an intriguing pitch as to why he wanted Owens to be the man that challenges him at WWE Bash in Berlin on Saturday, August 31.
However, Kevin Owens responded that while he appreciated the gesture, he felt that the opportunity required having “earned it,” which he doesn’t believe he’s done.
With the crowd responding by chanting, “You deserve it!” Rhodes would go on to hype up Owens, despite KO’s protests.'

Cody Rhodes said that he was ready to go to the back to tell Nick Aldis all the reasons why Owens should get a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash  in Berlin.
In a later backstage segment, Rhodes and Owens were talking with Aldis, and Owens was still protesting that he doesn’t deserve a title shot.
However, when Aldis threatened to discuss a title match for Roman Reigns instead, Owens got fired up and said that Reigns certainly doesn’t deserve it.
Aldis then reacted by making it official – Cody Rhodes vs Kevin Owens is set for Bash In Berlin.
