An update has emerged on AEW International Champion Will Ospreay, who’s taking some time off ahead of a major match.

Will Ospreay has certainly made an impact since officially joining AEW in February, wrestling a number of entertaining matches and winning his first AEW title.
Ospreay will have the opportunity to become a double champion at Forbidden Door, when he’ll challenge for Swerve Strickland’s AEW World Championship.
While Ospreay is gearing up for the biggest match of his AEW career so far, Fightful Select reports that Ospreay has this week off, after wrestling at Double or Nothing and the following editions of Dynamite and Collision.

Set to miss Dynamite, Rampage and Collision this week, it was noted that he’s expected to return next week.
Ospreay won the International Championship from Roderick Strong at Double or Nothing on May 26.
The former NJPW star then earned his AEW World Title shot by winning the #1 contender’s Casino Gauntlet match on the May 29 Dynamite episode.

He last wrestled on the June 1 edition of Collision (taped May 30), defeating Kyle O’Reilly to retain his International Championship.
Forbidden Door 2024 will emanate from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on June 30.
