Mercedes Mone has addressed the possibility of her losing the TBS Championship before Forbidden Door 2024 being brought up by Tony Khan.
It was announced on this week’s Dynamite episode that AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer will face off at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, with both titles on the line.
Ahead of then, Mone will defend her gold against Zeuxis on next Wednesday’s (June 12) Dynamite episode.
Tony Khan has taken to Twitter to provide clarification on what happens to the Forbidden Door match if Zeuxis wins the gold.
Noting that Mone vs Vaquer will still happen, just for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title, Khan wrote:
If @ZeuxisLucero wins the TBS Championship from Mercedes Moné on Wednesday Night in Des Moines at #AEWDynamite on TBS, + she then takes the title to @CMLL_OFICIAL, then@Steph_Vaquer vs @MercedesVarnado at #ForbiddenDoor will be for the @njpw1972 Strong Women's Championship only! pic.twitter.com/pnZWISOpNz
