AEW star Matt Hardy has revealed what they would like to see more from the company following the departure of QT Marshall.

As previously reported, QT Marshall announced last week that he is leaving All Elite Wrestling at the end of 2023, with reports claiming that it is partly due to not liking the direction the company is heading in.
Despite Marshall’s pending departure, it seems he isn’t the only one who would like to see more of the entertainment side in the promotion.

On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the AEW star revealed that he would like to see more storytelling in the company. He said:
“I would like to see a little more story and entertainment-based stuff into characters and whatnot in AEW,”
“To … draw more casual fans in and not just hardcore wrestling fans, I feel like they’re there and the wrestling is always going to be there — that’s what Tony loves.”

On the current standard in the AEW locker room, Hardy said:
“It is such a hard-working locker room and they have set the standard so high for matches that it gets harder and harder, and tougher and tougher to top those things,”
“I think these guys are having such great matches week in and week out I think it’s tough to top all this stuff over and over.”

On wanting more than just doing ladder matches in this run, Matt’s brother Jeff Hardy said:
“That’s where my best performing comes from, is just in the acting leading up to the matches,”
“Not just in the ring during the matches, but showing people another side of me.”

Matt and Jeff Hardy last competed in a trios loss alongside Isiah Kassidy against Action Andretti and Top Flight on the November 29 edition of AEW Dynamite.
