Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland says he is happy and proud of AEW star Komander for how far he’s come.

2023 has been a breakout year for Swerve Strickland in large part thanks to his association with Prince Nana and rivalry with Hangman Adam Page.
Strickland seems poised to have another huge year in 2024, but he always has his eyes on other rising stars on the AEW roster.
Despite being only 33 years old, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion is one of the veterans in the company and has shared the squared circle with legends like Rey Mysterio.

Appearing on the Mark Moses Show, Swerve was asked if any young talent has approached him to say it’s an honor to work with him. He answered:
“Komander. He said that to me when we faced off at ComplexCon, it’s a hip hop and fashion convention where we were running a wrestling show outside.”
“Komander was super excited and super happy and inspired to work with me. Now, Komander has joined the AEW roster and I see him every week now.”

“I have tremendous respect for him. He’s so young, so athletically gifted and talented, and I wish him such great and long career. He is phenomenal.”
“He just faced Roderick Strong this week, didn’t get the win, but the fact that he’s getting so much opportunities on television weekly, I’m just happy and proud of him and I want to see him keep rolling,”

While Komander lost to Roderick Strong, Swerve Strickland picked up a crucial win over RUSH to advance to the Gold League Finals of the AEW Continental Classic. He will now face Jon Moxley and Jay White on next Wednesday’s December 27 edition of AEW Dynamite.
